It’s always so difficult to figure out if fanart is of Lily or Ginny because both of em are redheads. Here is my take on their differences.
This is actually one of my issues with the Hinny ship. Lily and Ginny are described so similarly that it is difficult to tell which the fan art is about at times. Deciding to marry someone who looks like your dead mother is concerning on a number of levels
Ginny and lily aren’t described to look the same beyond sharing red hair, and even then lily is described closer to auburn and Ginny ginger. We meet ginny, we do get to see her be feisty and honest and we get to see her break. I would have loved to see more of her, and we see hardly anything of lily which is terrible, but I think it’s unfair to call both women carbon copies of eachother
I cannot believe it is 2017 and people are still honestly trying to pull this “lily and ginny are identical clones” bs. Are boys with blonde mothers not allowed to date other blondes? Are people with brown eyes forced to only date people with blue or green?
No one - I repeat, NO ONE in the ENTIRE SERIES ever compares Ginny’s appearance to Lily’s. Not Harry, not Sirius, not Remus, not the Weasleys, not Dumbledore, not Voldemort. NO ONE, NOT ONCE. And this comes from an author who repeatedly hammered in Harry’s likeness to James, or Draco’s to his father’s, and their kids to them, and Andromeda to Bellatrix, and so on and so forth. If JKR wanted us to think Ginny looked like a Lily clone, believe me we’d know!
Eye color, shade of hair, physical build (one plays sports and the other doesn’t, for instance!), style of hair or makeup or dress - there are a million things that would set Ginny apart from Lily visually if the people who make this tired old complaint actually bothered to think for a freaking second.
Fandom loves talking about Victoire and Teddy’s werewolf dad connections (yes I know Bill is not full wolf) or calling the next generation ships dr*rry and dr*mione 2.0 but Harry marrying a woman with red hair who is never once described as similar to his mother in any way is too much for you people. Unbelievable.

Anyway OP I love the art. The character designs are lovely and they look so 70s and 90s respectively and I love your style a lot. Very sorry for the rant and feel free to tell me to get it off your post.
